Musk boosts the Pizzagate conspiracy theory that led to the Washington D.C. gunfire in 2016

On Tuesday, Elon Musk expressed backing for Pizzagate, a discredited conspiracy theory that prompted an individual to discharge a rifle inside a Washington, D.C., restaurant in 2016.

This far-right theory, predating QAnon, falsely claimed that the Clintons and Democratic Party officials operated a covert satanic child sex ring in a D.C. pizzeria called Comet Ping Pong.

During the 2016 presidential campaign, this theory, embraced by some fringe Donald Trump supporters, was debunked as “fictitious” by investigators from the D.C. police.
